How we use AI
Last updated 12 June 2026
Shortlisted is built on AI, and we would rather be clear about how than hide it. This page explains where AI is involved, which providers we use, and the limits you should keep in mind.
Where AI is used
AI does the work at each step of your practice:
- Reading the job description and your CV to understand the role and your background.
- Producing your gap analysis: where you are strong, and the weak points a hiring manager will probe.
- Generating the interview questions, built around those gaps.
- Conducting the live voice interview, and transcribing what you say in real time.
- Scoring your answers and writing your feedback.
Which AI providers we use
We use Anthropic (Claude) to read your CV and job description, generate questions, and write your feedback. We use OpenAI for the live voice interview and for real-time speech-to-text. Depending on configuration, the text tasks may run on OpenAI or Google instead.
AI can get things wrong
AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Use your gap analysis and feedback as practice and a guide, check anything important, and never treat it as professional, legal or career advice.
We do not train AI on your data
Your CV, job descriptions and transcripts are sent to our AI providers only to produce your results. They are not used to train our models or, under their API terms, the providers' models.
Voice and audio
We do not store the audio from your interviews. Your speech is transcribed in real time, and only the text transcript is kept with your feedback.
Telling us when it is wrong
If the AI gets something clearly wrong, we want to know. Email hello@getaris.app so we can look into it and keep improving.
